Courses & Qualifications
Hitchmoughs offers a range of Courses covering British Horse Society (BHS) qualifications and practical Equine First Aid.
All courses are led by experienced, qualified professionals and combine classroom-based theory with genuine hands-on, practical instruction — giving you the knowledge and confidence to apply what you've learned.
Our dedicated lecture room provides a comfortable, well-equipped space for the theory side of every course, right alongside our yard and arenas for the practical work.
BHS Training
If you are looking to work with horses or are looking to upgrade your current equine qualifications, we can provide the following:
-
Stage training up to and including Stage 3
-
Ride Safe Training (formerly the Riding and Road Safety Exam)
Training may be in groups or individually depending on interest.

Equine First Aid
Knowing what to do in the first few minutes of an injury or illness can make all the difference to your horse.
Our Equine First Aid course gives owners, riders and yard staff the confidence to recognise a problem, act quickly and safely, and know when to call the vet.
The course is led by Sinead Vallely, BHS Coach in Complete Horsemanship and Course Director of Equestrian Studies at CSN College Cork. It combines classroom theory in our lecture room with hands-on practical sessions on the yard.
